Meghann Coughlin
Small Enterprise Development Volunteer (06-08)

In September 2006, I arrived in Burkina Faso as a Small Enterprise Development volunteer with the United States Peace Corps. In December 2006, I moved to the village of Niankorodougou near the Côte d’Ivoire border to officially start my work. And that’s where I lived for two years. I love the village, I love the people.
I just moved back to Philadelphia, PA and I miss my village. I will be continueing with the library project from here. Adelaide Schwartz is my Peace Corps replacement currently living in Niankorodougou. She will help manage the library in the village.
I am thrilled to have this opportunity to share information about our library and literacy project!
Hi all! My name is Adelaide Schwartz. I am currently living in Niankorodougou where I will be serving two years (08Dec- 10 Dec) through Peace Corps as a SED volunteer. Upon my arrival in Niankorodougou, the library immediately became my place of refuge— to meet and interact with the community, to study french and jula, and to encourage as many young reading apprentices as possible. I work with the librarian and library committee and will try my best to keep everybody informed through this forum. Please do not hesitate to contact Meghann or me if you have any questions regarding the library!!!

I’m so proud of you!!
And I’m excited to see all the amazing progress and updates through this blog… !!
I am really impressed with the organizational skills you have brought to this project. You can be very proud of the work you have accomplished in Burkino Faso. You have made the world a better place because of your unselfishness.
